Paisley – hazardous waste treatment facility
The hazardous waste treatment and recovery facility, situated in Paisley, was acquired by the William Tracey Group in September 2004 for secure disposal of hazardous wastes which cannot be managed by conventional routes on behalf of customers in Scotland, Northern Ireland and North England.
Hazardous waste streams are sampled prior to collection, this analysis identifies the most cost effective chemical or physical treatment, applying best practice processes, to enable our site to achieve its recycling target of 80% of material received.
With a supporting team of highly experienced individuals, of which 40% are qualified, industrial chemists, we specialise in the identification, analysis, treatment and disposal of special and hazardous wastes, thus managing and fulfilling our clients ‘duty of care’ obligation. Site health & safety is paramount and our gold award from RoSPA together with our ISO 14001 and 9001 accreditation underlines our company’s attitude and approach to corporate responsibility.
Our sales team will work with you to identify best practice methodology when disposing of hazardous waste including newly legislated streams such as the WEEE directive, vehicle de-pollution, fluorescent tube disposal and fridge de-gassing and recycling. Qualified DGSA staff will advise customers on new legislation and changes to regulation that may affect future disposal cost.
All materials are transported by our own fleet of specialised vehicles which range from non-HGVs to dedicated articulated trailers and petroleum regulated chemical tankers for highly flammable materials, operated by experienced ADR qualified drivers.
Personnel at Dunniflats and Paisley also provide a 24-hour emergency response service and have a proven track record in co-operation with SEPA and the Emergency Services.
