Tracey timber recycling - the viable re-use of wood waste
Tracey Timber Recycling continues to invest in new technology to provide economic re-use of wood wastes. The result is a process which re-introduces wood chip of the highest quality into industry for a wide variety of uses, including panel boards, fuel and decorative landscape chips.
The reprocessing plant is located at the company’s recycling centre at Linwood where it operates container collection services throughout Scotland. Customers may also deliver their own segregated wood waste. Typical examples include scrap pallets, wooden packaging crates and timber from demolition contracts.
Over 50,000 tonnes of wood waste per annum are received at the reprocessing facility at Linwood. The three-stage process includes shredding, screening and metal segregation to produce a high quality woodchip, which meets the exacting standards demanded by producer companies. The low moisture content from recycled timber provides a real advantage over virgin wood stock, reducing utility costs at our customer sites prior to manufacturing wood chip board or as a secondary fuel source in an organic ‘waste to energy’ process. The use of recycled wood also preserves virgin wood stock which is a great benefit to the environment.
In addition to the supply of woodchip to the particle board mills, Tracey Timber Recycling now produce woodchip products manufactured on site, such as the DecorChip range of coloured mulches, Good WoodChip horse arena surfacing and Tiger WoodChip for golf courses. These coloured mulches are chemical free, low maintenance and available in a variety of colours. Bagged ‘Decor Chip’ is sold throughout the UK as decorative landscaping for gardens, pathways, corporate logos, play areas and factored communal areas.
